MISSION

IMG_2597_edited.jpg

RoseBeat believes in the power of creativity and innovation to encourage balance to the planet and her people. Our natural environment is a rich resource for textile materials but the fashion industry has long taken advantage of those resources and been a source of vast environmental damage. Shifting the industry towards a circular economy, based on the notion that everything is connected and human impact should do no harm to either land or ocean, is key to the future of our planet. RoseBeat aims to play a part in this shift and inspire others to do the same.

RoseBeat seeks to inspire through empowering its consumers, students and anyone following along with the journey! By offering natural, ethically-made clothing alongside the teaching of handcraft skills, our mission is to help people of all kinds to find inspiration and confidence in what they wear; knowing they are doing good for themselves, for their global community, and for the planet; an altogether joyous process!

Both our products and educational resources utilize local sourcing, repurposed textiles, and natural and sustainable materials in order to minimize impact and inspire innovation as well as responsibility in the creation process. We believe that learning and practicing this handcraft can offer huge benefits for anyone and everyone, since it enables the expression of ‘self’ - not only in choosing what you wear, but in making their clothing yourself; a creative, collaborative and meditative process.

In addition to our own efforts, we are actively engaged with and donate a portion of our profits to other local organizations that work on behalf of humanitarian and environmental causes. We partner with foundations like Ho'ola Na Pua, who works to save local children from sex trafficking, while raising awareness of the issue within our community and across the world. ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Hannah Louisa Geraghty is a freelance handcraft tailor with nearly three decades experience working in the creative industries. Her true passion is to make the world of handcrafted clothing more accessible to everyone, in support of a more sustainable lifestyle and to protect the health and wellness of our community and the environment.

Growing up in a small village on the coast of North Devon, England, Hannah was lucky enough to have the inspiration of nature around her, along with artists blood running thick (the fourth generation of artists in the film industry!). Balanced with the scientific perspective from her Muma’s side, it's no wonder that she quickly developed a deep passion for discovering, inventing and creating.

Hannah left her homeland early on for worldwide travels; settling back in London to pursue a degree in Film and TV Production from London Guildhall University, where she specialised in Costume History and Anthropology. She continued to refine her handcraft skills at University of the Arts, London College of Fashion. After an apprenticeship with a prestigious tailor in London and an internship with the opera, she moved to LA where she broke into the creative industries of commercials, film and television, as well as high fashion and performing arts.

Since then, working across London, LA, New York and Hawaii, Hannah has had the privilege of partnering with craftspeople, artists and celebrities all across the industry. She continues to work as a Tailor under Hawai’i's union for theatrical artisans and technicians, IATSE 665, as well as from her own studio.

Through RoseBeat, she hopes to share her passion while making positive contribution to our local and global communities by providing a variety of services and products, each curated with sustainability and self-empowerment in mind. Hannah offers consciously crafted garments, unique upcycled creations, tailoring and alteration services along with private lessons, classes, and workshops for sewing and sustainable handcraft. She believes that personalizing clothing with handcraft skills is a fantastic sustainable and ethical alternative to fleeting trends and the fast fashion craze that is infecting our society and polluting our planet. The power of a collective, conscious, passionate group of people is real!
